The cam outside of Caylee Anthony's house

Fox News is slimy and maybe they've done far worse recently - but I couldn't believe the page I ended up on today. It belongs to their Orlando affiliate: myfoxorlando.com

I was reading the news on the Net I found a Fox News article with a weird title: "Missing Caylee Anthony's Grandparents Clash With Protesters". As is often the case with "news" recently the article was unclear. No effort to explain who Caylee Anthony was or why 'protesters' would be clashing with her grandparents.

I had to check Wikipedia.

Caylee Marie Anthony (born August 9, 2005) is a little girl who has been missing since June 2008 and has attracted national attention for the mysterious and dubious circumstances of her disappearance and probable death. Caylee's mother, Casey Anthony, is a person of interest in the case.

After I scanned the Wikipedia page I understood. I never watch broadcast tv but I assume the story has all the ingredients to have make it a staple for months and months on afternoon tv and on "soft news" shows broadcast later in the day or at night.

The Fox page I was on lead me to a myfoxorlando.com page that's sets a new low mark in the slide of reportage becoming tablod sensationalism.

myfoxorlando.com has set up a cam outside Anthony's parents house that refreshes every five seconds.

Obviously Fox is "helping" the story develop. It would be a ratings grabber if Caylee Anthony's family or extended family was involved in something violent. I mean, the story needs some prodding and perhaps the cam will help.

On the page scroll down for the clickable image to the live webcam page. Above the image it says: Camera is not active all day.

I suppose the cam is mounted in a news van. I wonder why coverage is only during part of the day. Is it because there is other news to cover or did a judge tell Fox how many hours a day they could film?

If I were going to make a bet - I'd bet on the second reason.

Microsoft's new (only?) youtube profile: WindowsVideos

Shoe Circus - Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates

I just learned about Microsoft's new (only?) youtube profile: WindowsVideos

That ad is not just bad - it's crap.

It's rumored that Seinfeld is getting $10 million for the ads.
